UDS Library honoured at 20th anniversary celebration

Several members of the UDS Library were honoured at the 20th anniversary celebrations recently held in Tamale. 

Alhaji I K Antwi's citation was as follows:

Alhaji Ibrahim Kwabena Antwi, Pioneer Staff of the University was the first Library Staff to be recruited to the University for Development Studies from the Position of Acting University Librarian in May 1993. You were promoted to the rank of University Librarian in October 1995.

As the 1st University Librabrian, you built the Library from scratch. Today UDS can confidently say that our Library is the Centre for Excellence for Academic and Research Work.

Your profound understanding of Library Administration won you many awards which include: Member, Study Seminar on Bibliographic Information on Development, Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom August, 1996; Honorary Member, Appointment Research Board of Advisors, American Biographical Institute, 1999, and the highest award of a full Fellowship of Ghana Library Association in November 2006.

On the occasion of the University’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, the Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students wish to recognize your tremendous contributions that have brought UDS this far. UDS salutes you.
